Founding Member Register
A record of the people who backed this land before a single acre had changed. Added by hand, one at a time, as founding members join.
No. 1 Liam Lynch
Liam runs Giant Leprechaun Productions and is webmaster for miIrish.com — a role that has him scouring the internet for Irish-interest content, which is how he found Heritage Rewilding Ireland. His great-grandparents left Co. Cork after the Great Hunger, and he's carried on the family's rewilding streak closer to home in Michigan, including years spent restoring a roadside stretch of native wildflowers. He's sponsoring his metre of soil at his daughters' urging, ahead of a family trip to Ireland's Samhain festivals this autumn.
No. 2 Randall Lundgren
Randall — better known on the festival circuit as His Hooleyness, Pope Malarkey I — has spent 18 years bringing family-friendly Irish humour to the Iowa Irish Fest. He learned of Heritage Rewilding Ireland through his old friend Liam Lynch, our first founding member, and signed on drawn by the same vision. Though his own roots trace to Scotland rather than Ireland, he's spent 14 years building friendships in the Irish community and has yet to make the trip himself — this metre of Co. Waterford soil is, for now, his own tangible connection to the island, and one he hopes to hand down as an example of doing good where you can.
